The S5 Workshop (Specialities and Services) executes the most complex mechanical parts with the utmost precision. To achieve this, the workshop has several machine centres, as well as a Ferrari machine for 5-axis high-speed milling.
This department’s flagship product is the manufacture of moulds for blowing the PET bottles used for soft drinks. Working from aluminium alloy castings, Ateliers Cagnon SA carry out all the operations required to make these moulds ready for mounting on bottle-making machines. This process starts with traditional machining work, followed by high-speed milling for the complex inside shape. The moulds are then subjected to mirror polishing by hand. Lastly, these pieces undergo an external colouring and anodization surface treatment, and the manufacturing brand and the tool’s characteristics are engraved on them with a laser.
It is also in this workshop that cutting tools are made and sharpened, both for in-house needs and for third parties. Assembly, conversion and repair work on mechanical or electromechanical assemblies is also carried out in this department. |
